Imagine this: a tall, awkward girl with arms and legs longer than the neck of a giraffe begins to make her way towards you—you are unsure if she is trying to dance, spazzing out, or if her shoes are too big and she's just tripping over the obvious flat ground. ME. That's me coming toward you making incoherent sounds (beep bop, bglaahhh, skzzztttt) mouth gaping open and eyes wide. 


I'm coming to you with a joy from the Holy Spirit, a heart full of love, and more puns and dad jokes than even my mom can handle. I do this by being myself and not anybody else, by letting out the goofy side, and striving to do my favorite thing—making others laugh. 

If you know me, you know that my favorite quote is "walk towards love and away from fear.” I was told this about a year and a half ago by one of my favorite people in the world, Vonya Eudy, who is filled with wisdom, wonder, and great love. Since hearing this quote, it has been my personal mission to live it out every day-- to approach others with the mindset that we will walk towards love TOGETHER.

Unlike normal blogs, I want to UPLIFT others. My goal is for everyone who reads this to be uplifted, to walk towards love, and take away something you can apply to your life. With UPLIFT, I will share the amazing stories of those close to me as well as include the amazing things God is doing in my life.

This is Catherine  Called “Cathy” by her close friends. Cathy is my best friend. You can betcha this girl made my life better. Cathy and I became close friends the last two years of high school. This is Ellen Ellen is my big in Theta. When I first met her as my big I had no idea who she was. I tried so hard to look so happy and enthusiastic while at the same time trying to figure out what her name was. Even though I didn’t know her I felt in my heart that I already loved her. We turned and began awkwardly dancing at each other instead of speaking but that language was good enough for us both to know that it was a match.  Ellen is the blessing I never knew I needed. She is a role model and a mentor. Ellen has spent the majority of her summers working for Camp Ozark ministering to young children and serving as influence. Her fire and flame for her position here is so strong and so amazing.  This year I have had the opportunity to watch Ellen’s relationship with the Lord spark.
