Claire Madelyn
This is Claire, my first best friend.
Claire is my first little sister. We are 17 months apart and have always loved each other—even if we haven’t liked each other. Our relationship is growing and flourishing just as any relationship does. As we grow older, we grow closer. I absolutely love her.
Claire has a heart full of love. I have never met someone who loves and is so loved by young children. She is a baby whisperer. I don’t know how she does it, but this is her gift. She has a gift to teach, mentor, and grow relationships with children. They don’t just view her as a babysitter—but as a friend and a role model.
This past year our hometown elementary school lost a teacher. Children have a hard-enough time understanding death as it is. My sweet sister combated this by organizing a group of high school students to walk the kids into school the next day. This showed the elementary kids that they are loved and cherished. It made hard times a little bit better. MY. SISTER. MADE. THIS. HAPPEN. WOW!
I am so VERY proud of her.
ABOUT CLAIRE: (babysitter, cheerleader, pig shower, sister, daughter, hard worker, humble, authentic, loving, caregiver)
- She’s a daughter: Claire loves the Lord and I am so excited to see how her relationship with our Father continues to grow.
- She’s a cheerleader: Claire isn’t the girl who becomes a cheerleader to wear a short skirt and flip around—she cheers to be a role model for the young girls dreaming of being a cheerleader someday, she cheers because she’s a motivator, she cheers because that is just who she is
- She’s a sister: every morning she drives our younger sister to school
- She’s country: Catch her in her boot cut jeans in the pig barns on any given day.
- She’s country: Catch her in her boot cut jeans in the pig barns on any given day.
- She’s dramatic: From 6-9 Monday-Friday she’s on the stage after a long day of school and work for One Act Play
- She’s real: from a young age, Claire has figured out what/who is real and what/who is fake. She always is herself and always wants others to be themselves as well. High school is hard, and people try to mold themselves into something they’re not (especially in a small school). Claire doesn’t have this problem. She knows who she is.
