Lauren Helm
This is Lauren
Lauren is the big sister I never had. I have never met someone that pushes me to be more faithful than this gal right here. If it wasn’t for her I would be in a much different place right now.
The first time we met she stood up in front of our newly formed member class for Theta and told them her fun fact was that she raced with her dad in the desert—my dad does that with his brothers, and I was SHOOK. I had never met anyone who knew what that was. It was destiny.
A couple days later Lauren reached out to a group message of 80 people to see if any of them wanted to go to StuMo with her. I had heard about StuMo and knew I wanted to go. (StuMo stands for Student Mobilization and exists to train and create disciples to go out and share about faith all while challenging college students to strengthen their faith in the college environment)
Lauren and I were the only two out of the 80 to attend that first StuMo. She came and picked me up and this was the first time we spoke to each other. We bonded more than I thought was possible. After StuMo she started driving me back to my dorm when she drove the wrong way down a one-way.
Plot twist—I still wanted to be friends with her.
Lauren is an amazing role model, mentor, and daughter of the Father. She strives to become closer to the Lord and that makes me want to draw nearer as well. She has no clue how she has improved my life for the better. It’s to the point that my parents ask about her every time we talk and invite her every where I go. They can see how much of an impact she has on me.
Lauren is the type of girl who sees an opportunity and takes it without a second thought. I know that she is going to do amazing things in life. She has a heart for children, mission work, and bettering the world. She sponsors a little girl in Kenya, babysits every week, and volunteers at our church nursery. Her heart is full of so much joy from the Lord.
My hope for Lauren is that she never ceases to understand how amazing and impactful she is. She pursues her relationship with God and pursues relationships with each person put in her life. Lauren is the type of person that strangers walk up to and tell their problems and life story. She’s a true 2. A servant—a giver.
Lauren your spark for Jesus is something that can set a whole forest ablaze. Don’t ever forget that no matter where your heart is at with Jesus that he is always sitting there with you—all you have to do is reach out to him.
Your heart is absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to see how the world becomes better—you have already made my world better.
